LA comment: The BSW continue to show that a substantial section of the German population do not hate Russia, are not warmongers and wish to preserve what remains of their welfare state. They wish to restore good relations with Russia so that Germany can once again access the source of its prosperity – cheap Russian energy.
The BSW also fights against the complicity of the German establishment in the Gazan genocide.
As the social, economic and political situation in Germany deteriorates, the BSW is the party to watch.

BSW Newsletter:
We demand a proper explanation for the terror attack on the Nord Stream pipeline!
Does the trail of the Nord Stream attack lead to Ukraine? That, at least, is what the arrest of a Ukrainian citizen in Italy suggests. According to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the accused is alleged to have been involved in the attack on the gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea and, together with a handful of Ukrainians, to have placed explosive devices on the pipes on the seabed in September 2022.
The arrest raises more questions than it answers. It is completely absurd to believe that the arrested man and his alleged accomplices acted without the backing of the Ukrainian leadership and the then US administration under Joe Biden. It is scandalous that, even after almost three years, the background to this act of state terrorism has still not been fully clarified. The latest developments in the Nord Stream case make the BSW’s demand for the establishment of a committee of inquiry all the more relevant! This committee must also investigate whether the Americans themselves are responsible for the terrorist attack on our energy supply, as renowned US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh writes.
If it is true that Ukraine was involved in the Nord Stream attacks, how stupid is it to provide a country that is destroying our most important energy infrastructure with billions in weapons and money? The German government must finally investigate and also demand accountability from Zelensky. If the suspicion of Ukraine’s involvement proves to be true, the question of compensation must also be put on the table! And we should finally push for the repair and recommissioning of Nord Stream and import competitive Russian gas again, instead of continuing to buy expensive fracking gas from the US.
Billions of euros for Ukraine but Chancellor Merz claims that the welfare state is no longer affordable!
It’s simply unbelievable: Chancellor Friedrich Merz announces his intention to axe the welfare state because it is ‘no longer affordable’ in its current form. One day later, his deputy Lars Klingbeil travels to Kiev and promises Ukraine further military aid worth nine billion euros a year on behalf of the federal government. After a total of over 50 billion euros in taxpayers’ money has already been squandered in Ukraine, further billions for weapons for Kiev can be easily financed – but there is no money for pensioners, the sick, children and families in Germany? Seriously?! I believe that it is not our welfare state that we can no longer afford, but this government that is gambling away our prosperity and trampling on the interests of its own citizens!
Stop the genocide in Gaza!
The people don’t want bombers and armed drones, they want more space for doves of peace. – Dieter Hallervorden
A large peace rally will take place at the Brandenburg Gate on 13 September at 2 p.m.
Speakers on stage will include Sahra Wagenknecht, rappers Massiv and Bausa, Dieter Hallervorden and Gabriele Krone-Schmalz.
We say: Stop the genocide in Gaza! No weapons in war zones! Peace instead of an arms race! Come one, come all and spread our call!
When Russia breaks international law, the response is: more weapons for Ukraine.
When Israel breaks it, we continue to supply them because ‘they do the dirty work for us’. When the USA breaks it, it is called strength. And when Germany becomes a military power, it is supposedly for our security.
We do not believe your lies. Your double standards are unbearable. Your playing with fire frightens us.
A heavily armed Germany has never brought peace. A world where weapons speak instead of diplomacy is a danger to us all.
We condemn war crimes – whether in Ukraine, Gaza, Iran or elsewhere.
Gaza is now the largest children’s cemetery in the world. In Iran, too, the victims were predominantly civilians. Every day, Russian and Ukrainian families weep because their sons, brothers and fathers are dying in a senseless war.
We will not be persuaded that war is normal. We do not want war with a nuclear power. We need the money for the things that really matter.
We demand:
➔ An immediate stop to German arms deliveries
➔ Peace negotiations instead of escalation
➔ An end to the arms race – before it’s too late
Please share this appeal and the associated Facebook event and come to our rally on 13 September 2025 at 2 p.m. in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
The German Government requires cannon fodder for a war against Russia.
The federal government has introduced its military service law. Even though it is still voluntary for the time being, this marks the start of the return to compulsory military service. After all, both Chancellor Merz and Defence Minister Pistorius have made it clear that compulsory recruitment could be introduced very soon if not enough volunteers come forward in the course of the military service reform to make Germany ‘fit for war’ and the Bundeswehr ‘the strongest conventional army in Europe’.
The military service reform is the next big step towards the militarisation of Germany and an attack on the young population, the vast majority of whom are against the reintroduction of conscription. Young people should resist this deprivation of their freedom for the sake of war! Tomorrow’s conscripts could be the Bundeswehr soldiers of the day after tomorrow, who may then be sent to Ukraine. Instead of preparing Germany for war with Russia, in which our young people would then be sacrificed, the federal government should do everything it can to support a peaceful solution in Ukraine and return to diplomacy and détente.
The BSW will resolutely fight against compulsory military service. We say: No to conscription! No to the deployment of Bundeswehr soldiers to Ukraine!
