BSW on Democracy and the banning of political parties:
The efforts to ban the AfD (Alternativ für Deutschland) are a political folly in which BSW is not participating. The fact that support for the AfD has doubled in the past three years is not due to the particularly brilliant policies of Weidel and Co. but to particularly miserable policies in Berlin.
Uncontrolled migration, rising prices, the economic decline of our country, the growing threat of war and the waste of taxpayers’ money on more and more weapons while the infrastructure deteriorates: many things no longer work in our country and insecurity is growing. Instead of helping the AfD during the election campaign by proposing bans, the real problems must finally be solved! However, a submissive attitude towards the USA and an arms race policy, as supported by the AfD, will not achieve this.
And on the policies of the AfD:
The AfD stands for a sharp-elbowed society
The AfD doesn’t want a fair meritocracy, but instead favours policies for the super-rich and billionaires, who have also benefited from all the crises of recent years. In the debate with Alice Weidel on Maischberger, I explain why I am not surprised that the richest man in the world supports the AfD, why I find it rather embarrassing how Weidel is cosying up to Elon Musk and why we need at least one force in the next Bundestag that is committed to peace and disarmament and confidently represents our interests instead of running after the USA and Donald Trump.
No more vassalage!
What will US President Trump bring to the world? Peace? New wars? In any case, the most brutal possible enforcement of American interests – with tariffs and, if necessary, military force. One thing is also clear: with a federal government that continues to implement all of Washington’s announcements in vassalage, our country will go under.
Why we now need a government that confidently represents our economic interests instead of making a fool of ourselves abroad like Mrs Baerbock, and why we cannot count on the AfD, which is literally throwing itself at Donald Trump and his billionaire friends, on this issue.
BSW on Family Friendly Politics:
‘I want our country to be family-friendly!’
But back to the question of how we can make our country family-friendly. Because I find it appalling that the decision to have children so often leads to poverty! That’s why we’re fighting for higher child benefit, more daycare places and more teachers in schools, but also for a rent cap and the creation of affordable housing, because families with children in particular suffer massively from the housing shortage and far too often have to live in cramped conditions. We urgently want to change this!
BSW on Terrorist Acts in Germany:
Magdeburg, Aschaffenburg – What more needs to happen?
Just a few weeks after the horror of Magdeburg, the next terrible act of violence occurs, this time in Aschaffenburg. Chancellor Scholz and Interior Minister Faeser share responsibility for this. We must protect our population from such madmen who abuse our right of asylum. This is also in the interests of the many well-integrated immigrants, because every act of violence of this kind leads to a further poisoning of the climate in the country.
I therefore consider two measures to be urgent: a violent offence must lead to the termination of the asylum procedure and the immediate deportation of the perpetrator. Secondly, only those people who are not travelling from a safe third country should be allowed to apply for asylum in Germany.
It is unacceptable for politicians to go back to business as usual after the usual expressions of concern!
On failing to tax the rich properly:
The middle class is being plucked like a Christmas goose.
Only 3,300 people in Germany own around a quarter of the country’s total financial assets, which have now risen to 9 trillion euros. While the middle class in Germany has to bear one of the highest tax burdens in Europe, our country is a tax haven for the super-rich – thanks to the policies of parties such as the CDU/CSU, but also the Greens, FDP and SPD.
Why we think it is unfair that labour income is taxed much higher than property income in this country and why we do not accept that the state takes a double and triple hit from people who work hard.
Note from Labour Affairs:
Latest Yougov polling for German general election gives BSW 6% of the vote and 45 seats in the Bundestag, making it the fifth most popular party in Germany after 1 year of existence and with very few members and little in the way of resources and mainstream media publicity.
